Ben Meredith Joins Impress.org as Senior Support Technician

Welcome Ben Meredith as Senior Support Technician at WordImpress

With the launch of Give in April 2015, as well as further development of our Impress.org plugins including the launch of Maps Builder Pro and Facebook Reviews Pro, we’ve seen exponential growth as a company. As they say, with great growth comes great… support!

That’s why we’re excited to announce that Ben Meredith is joining our team as Senior Support Technician at Impress.org.

Get to Know Ben Meredith

Ben lives in Cary, North Carolina with his wife and two children. Ben has a very diverse work history, having worked in many different fields. Recently though, Ben became a self-taught WordPress developer. In the WordPress space, he’s best known as the author of “Better Click to Tweet” and the founder of WPSteward.com. His experience both as a plugin developer and small-business owner gives him skills that are highly prized in the field of Plugin Support.

We’ve been working with Ben part-time as a contractor since April, 2016. The main reasons we extended the offer of employment to Ben are because of his extremely good nature, attention to detail, ability to learn quickly and adapt, and to do all of that with a smile. Personally, I believe liking a person for who they are and what they can accomplish is one of the most important factors in hiring, and in that regard Ben excels.

What You Can Expect from Ben

The most important task of a Senior Support Technician is being able to respond with kindness and professionalism to our growing customer base. In this regard, Ben has already been staffing our Support queue excellently. If you submit a ticket for our Give plugin, most likely Ben will be the first to jump in and give you the answers with a (digital) smile.

Senior Support Technicians also assist in reporting potential issues with our plugins, and testing fixes and updates. This requires a good grasp of versioning, primarily with Git and Github. This allows Ben to not only know exactly how to provide technical answers to our customers, but also gives him an intimate knowledge of the plugins themselves.

Lastly, Ben will be contributing to our blog and representing us at WordCamps. He’s an excellent communicator and just all-around good guy to hang out with. If you are planning to be at WordCamp Raleigh or another WordCamp near North Carolina you might just see Ben there.

What You Can Expect from Impress.org

Bringing Ben on is a reflection of all the growth we’ve been experiencing. Scaling our support as we grow is vitally important to maintaining our high standards for support and development. We expect great things from Ben so that you can expect even more great things from us across all our products.
